I've always believed that my relationships with students, and seeing them learn, was the greatest reward I got from teaching. So in my nearly 20 years of working in schools, I haven't worried too much about what grown-ups say about schools or teachers. Still, it feels great when someone "gets it." DGS is a wonderful school for so many reasons, and this op/ed piece in The Washington Post sums up some of them better than any local press that DGS has ever gotten. Yes, a tiny bit of pride: our school is recognized as a good one. Thanks for being part of it, we couldn't do any of this without our close-knit school community.
